Dehiscence

Dehiscence - the moment before something bursts open.  Dehisce - verb, spontaneous opening, gape or burst open. We are at that time of the year. Seeds are setting. Seed pods have formed and are waiting patiently to disperse in their various ways. Some by explosion, some by discretely depositing themselves on passing animals and some by flying away in the breeze.

Some thoughts from my sketchbook, as I head back to the studio after a summer break.  Still thinking about the concept of Wildness and looking back over previous research.

Seed pods.  After the seed has flown.
