Working in Studio

Re-arranging collections and adding a new element.    Up until now I have only displayed my "natural world" collections in my print trays.  I think I will add the kitsch now.  When I was younger, I would save up pocket money so that we could buy a "souvenir" or something from the holiday town we were visiting.  I have a little doll in a purse that was bought on such an occasion.  I remember buying a seahorse set in resin. I think it was a pendant, on a chain, to wear around my neck.  Unfortunately I don't think I have it any more!  It is the stuff of snow globes and baskets of shells.  Of plastic lobsters and fishing nets.

Maybe my work is incorporating  holiday memories now.  Spending time in Weston-super-Mare, which was somewhere I spent a lot of time as a child, is bringing back these memories.
