My practice.

My artistic practice is multi-disciplined focussing on drawing, printmaking and textiles. I am interested in nature and am therefore influenced by the outside world around me.  In response to my urban environment, my research is based on the way that nature continues to structure itself in unexpected ways.  My way of making incorporates monoprinting and, sometimes,  embroidery in a series of one-off prints.
I collect the twigs, the stones, the shells, the seed heads and keep them in my studio.  They are always there to draw and to look at, reminding me of summery days in the dark of winter. As a result I have become interested in my "collections".  When visiting my parents recently, I found my mother's pressed flower collection and a collection of stamps.  I have been referencing these in my recent work.
